Columbia Magnetic Imaging, PC is pleased to announce the installation of a General Electric 3.0 Tesla Magnet to our new state-of-the-art imaging center, located at 23 Fish and Game Road, opening this August. This magnet represents a quantum leap beyond the 1.5 Tesla Magnets currently in use throughout the United States. "By having this level of MRI capability, Columbia Magnetic Imaging will provide the most sophisticated Magnetic Resonance Imaging in healthcare today." says Medical Director Benjamin Seckler, MD. Dr. Seckler is a board certified Radiologist who trained at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. According to Dr. Seckler, utilizing a 3.0 Tesla magnet for MRI clinical imaging places Columbia Magnetic Imaging at a level equal to or even superior to elite academic medical centers throughout the world. "The advantage to the community is unprecedented. This stronger and faster MRI will allow the radiologist to detect pathology previously not seen while significantly decreasing scanning time to allow for maximum patient comfort." says Dr. Seckler. This advancement in MRI scanning capability is CMI’s first step to bringing a full state-of-the-art outpatient-imaging center into our rural community. In the spring of 2005, Columbia Magnetic Imaging plans to welcome DRA Imaging to provide CT, Ultrasound and Mammography imaging.
